Obama - Canada’s Choice

If you haven’t realized this by now, Canadians are more liberal in our beliefs than Americans.   We have what some would negatively term ‘socialist’ health care, we support gay marriage, and we don’t restrict abortion to the degree that the United States does.  Even though we have just voted a conservative into office that does not mean that we, as a country, are conservative.  Our conservative leaders are still quite liberal by American standards.  Socially, we support the change that Obama is trying to bring about. So, it makes sense that we would support a candidate like Obama, who we see as more liberal and open, as opposed to a candidate like McCain, who we would see as traditional and conservative.

Since we share the same continent with Americans, what America does is of great concern to us, as it affects our economy, and to some extent, our reputation.  Obama has a better reputation world-wide than McCain, which gives us great confidence that he will help America’s failing reputation among other nations.  We hope that his election will reduce the negative impact of previous administrations, and help North American prosper.
